Basic Rules
The Epic List is sort of an adventure network or a dream exchange. For too many people, their greatest goals are never reached because they are never started. If you're willing to share your vision, I'm interested in joining in and helping to make it happen. No, I will not participate in anything illegal, don't ask to move into my apartment, and "I always wanted to be rich" is not the kind of vision we're talking about here. Beyond the obvious, there aren't many things that are completely off limits (I do, however, reserve the right to refuse participation).
So with those few guidelines in mind, let's get these things done! I'll video the experience and blog about it afterward.
- Matt
P.S. I've started the list with 10 of my own just to give a flavor for the range of possibilities (if anyone has any advice or help to offer, PLEASE DO!).

#0007 Surfing in Hawaii

The plan is to train and take classes with Rich before making my sojourn. This picture is of me from the near-future. Anyone interested in watching me write my Obit?

#0001 and #0002 (NYE locations) - Matthew Roozee
There are two places that I've always wanted to visit to celebrate New Year's. One is Las Vegas and the Other is New York City. It would obviously be impractical to do both in the same week, but I'd like to do one to start 2010 and the other at the end. If anyone is interested in coming along, or if you have your own list-items that could be checked off on the same trip, let's start planning!

NYE in Vega$...
ReplyDeleteGo a couple days in advanced to get the lay of the land, so to speak. Gambling & restaurants are virtually empty the 26th through the 28th. And everything is cheaper on those dates because many of the shows are also dark, then.
If you can get an invite into a particular club party, that would probably be the funnest option. We spent NYE in Vega$ @ a show Starring Rosanne Arnold (yuk) and her then husband Tom (much better). Not the optimum way to spend NYE, but I can say "I was there."
Also, stay in a better Hotel preferably facing the Strip. Our room, in the OLD Aladdin hotel, faced the dumpsters where EVERY BOTTLE OF BOOZE ON THE WALL fell many floors into the dumpster ALL NIGHT LONG! This made the trip home, the next day, a long miserable one.
Also, Las Vegas Blvd. (the Strip) is closed to all traffic NYE. It took me over 20 minutes to go 1/2 mile by cab to meet up with Tony, who was at another location. Start looking NOW for a room at a place like Wynn, Encore, Caesar's Palace, the Venetian or Bellagio. They are centrally located, pricey, but are the nicest ones there & will probably fill up fast.
Just my 2 cents.
Just got back from the New Year's Eve bash in Las Vegas and had a great time! I'll post a write-up, pictures and videos in the next few days.
ReplyDeleteNew Year's Eve in New York was fantastic. Very different vibe from Las Vegas but still a lot of fun.
