Basic Rules
The Epic List is sort of an adventure network or a dream exchange. For too many people, their greatest goals are never reached because they are never started. If you're willing to share your vision, I'm interested in joining in and helping to make it happen. No, I will not participate in anything illegal, don't ask to move into my apartment, and "I always wanted to be rich" is not the kind of vision we're talking about here. Beyond the obvious, there aren't many things that are completely off limits (I do, however, reserve the right to refuse participation).
So with those few guidelines in mind, let's get these things done! I'll video the experience and blog about it afterward.
- Matt
P.S. I've started the list with 10 of my own just to give a flavor for the range of possibilities (if anyone has any advice or help to offer, PLEASE DO!).

#0004 Making Sushi
#0007 Surfing in Hawaii

The plan is to train and take classes with Rich before making my sojourn. This picture is of me from the near-future. Anyone interested in watching me write my Obit?

#0013 (opera in Vienna) - Myhue Li
Somebody has expensive tastes. I've never been to Vienna but I do like the opera (I wear a tie and everything when I go!). The opera house that people associate with Vienna is the Vienna State Opera. Myhue suggested The Barber of Seville, but wasn't set in stone about it. Since this is Vienna, I'll try to convince her that she really wants to see The Marriage of Figaro instead.
#0012 (sumo) - Myhue Li
Life is about choices and my long-shot hope of a professional sumo career has probably passed. Still, the draw of watching titanic guys slamming into each other is hard to resist. Sumo tournaments are relatively long events (15 days) with each wrestler having one bout per day. But with proper planning, this could be the bomb. In 2010 and 2011 the final days of the Spring Basho in Osaka come within a couple days of the blooming of the Cherry Blossoms.

#0011 (visiting Scully's) - Kevin Scully
In a previous life, I was a mathematician at U.C.Irvine. The only other mathematician from U.C.Irvine that I keep in touch with is Kevin Scully (Ph.D., but he's cool anyways). He mentioned to me an unusual goal that he's had for awhile. During a vanity search, he found a restaurant named Scully's owned by another guy named Kevin Scully near Miami, Florida. He decided that he wanted to visit this restaurant, try their Scully Burger (which apparently has been featured on the Food Network) and meet the owner. The Cosmic significance of this is overwhelming.

#0010 (writing a novel) - Matthew Roozee
For years, I've had a story in my head that I've wanted to write. Unfortunately, life sometimes gets in the way. Now that I know people who have actually done it (and even published!), it seems more realistic. This will take a lot of time and effort, but I think it will all be worth it if I can, just once, write "The End".
#0009 (juggle 5 objects) - Matthew Roozee
Juggling three things is really not that tough. Every year or so, I pick up three tennis balls just to check and see if I can still do it; it's like riding a bicycle. Five is another matter entirely. I have successfully made about 6 throws but I'm nowhere near proficient at it (there are guys who run 8 minute miles while juggling 5 objects)! Just because the list is epic, doesn't mean every goal on it has to be Earth-shattering.
#0008 (Rubik's cube blindfolded) - Matthew Roozee
I've been able to solve the Rubik's Cube since I was in 7th grade. Recently, I saw a person solve it blindfolded and thought, "That is really cool!". Ok, so my definition of "cool" may not match anyone else's, but it's still something I'd like to do. :)
#0007 (surfing in HI) - Matthew Roozee
Despite being born and raised in Southern California, I had never tried surfing before last year. I was not very good at it and I took a beating, but it was a lot of fun. I have also never been to Hawaii. For me, the combination of the two is much greater than either one alone. Who's with me?
